After all those times we have missed the mark in our lives,and after all those times we haven't succeeded like we would have preferred - where has all that put us? What have we been taught about failure? What have we chosen to learn?
What is failure? Failure is something that none of us like - it's not really all that pleasant. It is something that carries shame with it. It is something to be avoided, and ultimately it is feared so deeply and subtly in the darkest recesses of our poorly taught minds, that we seek only the average in our lives. We have taught ourselves to stay in our comfort zones and to never stray too far from what we define as safe!
In most cases we have no idea that fear is affecting us, but it does, and it does so incessantly through our inherited insecurities and patterns of doubt.
We all walk around with fear. It is within us, but it follows us always like a shadow.
Our own success is also within us, and this ultimate success is a blueprint, a plan or package. Unfortunately, we will never see what's inside that "success" package because it comes with a deceptive cover - this cover is fear.
Admittedly for some, fear presents itself as a horrifying monster, but for most of us it shows itself like an old friend - an old, worn and well-used blanket that we are comfortable with.
However, instead of looking under that blanket to see what it conceals, we wrap ourselves in it with our hopes, and its promises, that it will keep us warm.
Fear makes us averse to what we think of as risky, and risk tells us that if we dare to try something new, we could lose the little we already have - and so, we play it safe, and we never truly Go For the GOLD !!!
Fear is the killer of minds. It prevents our free-thinking, and our freedom itself. It imprisons us withour bars. It tells us that we are free, and safe from danger. Fear prevents us from being BOLD, but allows us to admire those that actually are. We admire those who have claimed their inheritance and succeeded in making their dreams come true. We worship those who go beyond their fears, but don't allow ourselves to do the same.
